Mad Caddies are a friggin awesome band in California that play the punk music they love for their army of fans over the world. They were formed way back in 1995 and since that time, they have racked up an impressive 6 albums, 2 eps and 1 live album. Some members have come and gone over the years but 6 guys remain united and show no signs of going anywhere.
Chuck Robertson sings lead vocals and rhythm guitar. Sascha Lazor is amazing on lead guitar and also plays the banjo. The remaining members of the band are Mark Bush, Eduardo Hernandez, Graham Palmer, Dustin Lanker and Todd Rosenberg. Something that sets them apart from generic classic punk bands is that they play an assortment of quirky instruments including the trombone!
They are signed up to Fat Wreck Chords, which is a brilliant label to be associated with. Although punk based, Mad Caddies have tons of ska inspiration in their music and even Reggae! They are known for how well they perform live, vibing together and involving fans in the show too! Just because the dudes are getting a little older now, this definitely doesn’t mean they are losing their energy. Their latest album ‘Dirty Rice’ is as fun as ever, so they’ve definitely still got it. Even though they have influences from all different music genres, they are hard to pin down to one in particular, which is something that is really cool about them. Their songs are so diverse, they take old school to a brand new level and they are forever evolving. On the whole, Mad Caddies are a band that are worth taking notice of.
Some of the most popular songs from Mad Caddies include ‘Weird Beard’, ‘Drinking for 11’, ‘Mary Melody, ‘Shoot Out The Lights’ and more. They’ve kept true to who they are throughout the years while still providing fresh music that gets noticed by new people on a daily basis. Mad Caddies have played all over the world but the loyalty to their roots is apparent and so is their down to earth attitude! This brilliant band continue to grow and their tracks are guaranteed to be some of the catchiest that you will ever listen to.
When asked the secret of their success during a recent interview, one of the guys said it was because of the lack of the drama in the band and the fact their personalities fit together so well. Less drama and more awesome music is definitely the way forward and more bands would do well by listening to Mad Caddies.
Even though their tracks are flawless, performing live is where they shine most and they have lots of dates coming up. Right now the band are touring America but in June, they are hitting Europe which will allow fans from further across the pond to get involved in their antics.
